Today visit Boudhanath, Swyambhunath, and Bhaktapur Durbar Square with your tour guide.

             - Boudhanath Stupa, situated 11 Km. from the centre of Kathmandu, is one of the biggest in the world of its kind. It stands with four pairs of eyes in the four cardinal directions, keeping a lookout for righteous behaviour and human prosperity. This Buddhist stupa was built by King Man Deva at the advice of the Goddess Mani Jogini. It is built on an octagonal base and contains inset prayer wheels. The shrine is surrounded by the homes of Lamas, or Buddhist priests.

           -  Swayambhunath, is located 4 km from the centre of Kathmandu. Swayambhunath is the best place to observe religious harmony between Nepalese Buddhists and Hindus. The stupa is one of the most ancient in this part of the world, and its worshippers come from diverse ethical backgrounds. Situated on the top of a hill, it provides an excellent view of the Kathmandu Valley. Huge prayer wheels and fine Buddhist paintings are displayed in the monasteries, as is the largest Buddha statue in the country.

     - Bhaktapur is one of three ancient cities within the Kathmandu Valley. The city is also known as Bhadgaun, meaning the "city of devotees" and is the home of true medieval art and architecture in the valley. The city was founded in the 9th century and is shaped like a conch shell.

This morning after breakfast, you'll head to the domestic airport in Kathmandu, where you will board your plane for the short flight to the Terai region and Chitwan National Park.

The name ‘Terai’ refers to the extensive plains in the southern part of Nepal – this area is the most northern extension of the great Gangetic plains of India, land that was won and lost in decades of struggle, and shares both Indian and Nepali characteristics and culture.

From the airport, it's a one-hour drive to your jungle lodge. Spread over 30 acres, the Barahi Jungle Lodge offers 35 deluxe boutique guest rooms, built as individual and two-in-one private villas. The works of Tharu artisans adorn all of the spacious rooms, each with its own private balcony overlooking the Chitwan canopy and the Rapti River.
